Homemade Hummus

Here’s what you will need: 1 (15-ounce) can chickpeas 1/4 cup fresh lemon juice (1 large lemon) 1/4 cup well-stirred tahini, see our homemade tahini recipe 1 small garlic clove, minced 2 tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil, plus more for serving 1/2 teaspoon ground cumin Salt to taste 2 to 3 tablespoons water Dash ground paprika or sumac, for serving There are a few ways to combine these ingredients. I added chickpeas and lemon juice to a food processor first. Once smooth, I added the rest. You may or may not need to add the water, if the hummus is too thick or you are having a hard time getting it smooth try adding a bit of water.
