Instead of This Try a Healthier Pumpkin Pie
Nourish Wellness November 18 · Thanksgiving time! Don’t let my ugly pie fool you ! It is tasty and way healthier! Both the crust and pie are easy to make and the only ingredient you may not have in your pantry is almond flour. Crust Ingredients: 1 3/4 cups of almond flour 4 Tbsp of Organic Butter Pie ingredients: 1 - 15 oz can of pumpkin purée 1 egg 2 egg whites 1/2 cup milk (I used almond milk) 3 teaspoons coconut oil or butter 1/3 cup brown cane sugar 1 1/2 Tbsp vanilla extract 1 tsp cinnamon 1/4-1/2 tsp nutmeg Preheat oven 350. Combine almond flour and melted butter in food processor and combine for about 1 minute or until dough forms. Spray pie plate with cooking spray and add dough. Using your fingers, press the dough outward and up the sides forming the crust. Add all of the pie ingredients into the food processor and combine. Pour into the pie plate and cover the crust edge with a pie cover or foil. (Or you will have dark edges like mine ) Bake for about 1 hour.
