One of my go-to smoothies is this cherry almond smoothie. Cherries are are great source of antioxidants, along with vitamins and nutrients. Cherries may also help with inflammatory conditions like arthritis and gout. Remember a healthy smoothie is packed with the right carbohydrates and proteins.
1 cup of frozen organic cherries (cherries are on the Dirty Dozen List.)
1/2 - 3/4 cup almond milk of choice
1/2 cup of plain organic Greek yogurt (I have also used the Chobani reduced sugar cherry Greek yogurt)
1-2 drops of almond extract
Add-ins like hemp seeds, chia seeds, and even a few dark chocolate chips can add more nutrients.
